Ron's Story
Ron's first camera was a Christmas gift in 1951. He was in the eighth grade. He has been taking photos and filing all his negatives ever since. At last "retirement" and digital darkroom equipment have provided him with the opportunity to exhibit his work.
Most of his images are from Colorado; many are from the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Ron also finds much of his inspiration in the open prairie of the high plains of eastern Colorado.
The weathered wood frames are made in his workshop. Much of the wood comes from Colorado barns.
The photos seem to display well in these natural mountings. Sometimes Ron's imagination runs wild and he creates some novelty frames to highlight wildflowers, wildlife and other subjects.
Ron (a Colorado native) and his wife Sally have lived in southern Weld County near Hudson since 1965. Living in a cottonwood grove on the plains has inspired many of the photos and the frames.
